Pioneering French electric motorbike manufacturer, current Trial E World Champion and leader in off-road electric motorcycles Electric Motion (EM) naturally selected to join the growing list of OEMs competing in the FIM E-Xplorer World Cup, starting in Q3, 2022.
Electric Motion (EM) joins the FIM E-Xplorer World Cup as a manufacturer ahead of the inaugural season, which commences in Q3 2022.
Lining up alongside M-TEC (Mugen) and others yet to be announced, the French outfit's innovative electric motorcycles will take on the competition over three rounds held in both urban and rural environments around the world.
"Electric Motion is the pioneer in electric motorcycles," said E-Xplorer Founder and CEO Valentin Guyonnet. "I have been following and working with Philippe for over 15 years now and enjoyed watching every second of Electric Motion's progress, both as a company and in terms of the technology they produce.
"I'm very happy to have a manufacturer with roots in the Trial world. The marque's product offering is amazing and I look forward to seeing what they are able to produce for the competition over the coming months. They are a great fit for the FIM E-Xplorer World Cup and I'm very proud to welcome EM to the series."
Founded by Philippe Aresten in 2009, the company first sketched an electric off-road motorbike as early as 2010 before honing its engineering and design over the next decade and expanding its range of bikes. Now situated at a bespoke headquarters and manufacturing facility in the town of Vendargues, France, the Electric Motion team is now preparing for a new chapter in its history and one of its greatest challenges to date: competing in the electric, all-terrain FIM E-Xplorer World Cup.
“I have been following the project of Valentin and his team since the beginning I was particularly impressed by Valentin's professionalism in his approach and in the different stages of his magnificent project," said Electric Motion CEO and Founder Philippe Aresten.
"We share the same passion and like the originality of the concept as well as the profile of the event, which opens the door to something radically different than the typical, standardised two-wheeled motor sport competitions.
"The "electric" industry, in which we have been involved in for a long time as a company that produces a complete range of products, enables a modern, intelligent, and innovative Championship like the FIM E-Xplorer World Cup to take place.
"We are by their side at every stage of the development of this project and look forward to continuing to support them as a manufacturer in the FIM E-Xplorer World Cup. Congratulations to Valentin's team and I can’t wait for the competition to start later this year.”
By competing with other top tier manufacturers, Electric Motion will use the series to further advance and develop their proprietary technology, benefiting from the lessons learnt on both urban and rural tracks. These lessons will inform the development of the marque's future products that will appeal to a new generation of climate-conscious and curious riders, keen to explore without damaging the environment.
